UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE

Neurodivergent

Neurodivergent is a term for describing someone who functions, behaves, thinks, feels, learns, communicates or processes information differently to what is considered to be ‘typical’ by society.

Neurotypical

Neurotypical is a term for describing someone whose way of processing information and behaviours are seen to be ‘standard’ or ‘normal’ by society. This is seen as the opposite of Neurodivergent.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
