Trauma and Dissociation Informed IFS

I would like to share my feedback regarding the introductory section of the book that addresses Gender, Race, and Culture. I felt that the concepts presented were not clearly articulated and did not significantly contribute to the overall quality of the text. A curated reading list on these topics may have been more beneficial.

While I struggled with the use of clinical terminology throughout the book, I believe the information presented has the potential to enrich the established framework of standard IFS by integrating additional dimensions. This book offers valuable insights into how to work with participants in a manner that is safe and effective.

I especially appreciated the integration of phase-oriented trauma treatment and coping skills with IFS. This combination will enhance practitioners capacity to support participants in their recovery from complex trauma and in working with dissociation, while also addressing gaps in IFS approaches that often suggest coping skills are not necessary.
