Stimming is a natural self care method!


Reasons stimming is beneficial include:


1. Emotion Regulation: Stimming helps manage anxiety and frustration by releasing energy or tension.


2. Sensory Processing: Stimming balances sensory input by calming overstimulation or providing stimulation when lacking.


3. Focus Enhancement: Actions like leg bouncing or fidgeting help maintain concentration in challenging environments.


4. Joy Expression: Stimming can convey happiness or excitement, not just release stress or anxiety.


5. Autonomy & Acceptance: Embracing stimming honours personal needs and resists the pressure to mask one’s true self.
