Shoga’s Box in the Studio

Writer's picture: Rae Sabine Rae Sabine

I recently relocated Shōga’s box to the studio and he absolutely loved it. Shōga has a strong desire to be the centre of attention. If he senses that he is not receiving the level of attention he desires, he has a rather amusing habit of trying to sit on the artwork that is in progress. He seems to believe that by positioning himself on the artwork, he can reclaim the spotlight and get more pats.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
