The label ADHD is widely criticised for being inaccurate, pathologising, and harmful. So, why do we continue to put up with it? Fortunately, there is a growing movement of using the term “polyennic” coined by Raven Cochrane, as a better alternative, which conveys the idea of having “many thoughts.” Although it may take some time for this new term to become widely accepted, there is hope for change in the future.
