Intersectionality

INTERSECTIONALITY:

Intersectionality recognises that people’s identities and experiences are shaped by multiple factors (such as race, gender, sexuality, abilities and class etc) which intersect to create unique perspectives and challenges.

Understanding intersectionality is key to creating truly inclusive spaces where all voices are heard and valued.

“Intersectionality is a lens through which you can see where power comes and collides, where it locks and intersects. It is the acknowledgement that everyone has their own unique experiences of discrimination and privilege.”- Kimberlé Crenshaw

Flags.jpg

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations.

I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
