The International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) is a worldwide day that recognises and brings attention to the negative impacts of discrimination on LGBTQIA+ individuals. On May 17, 1990, homosexuality was no longer classified as a disease by the WHO, and since then, more than three decades have passed, yet LGBTQIA+ communities continue to experience discrimination. It is crucial now more than ever to advocate for inclusivity and fight against discrimination.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
