Grief is Strange

Writer's picture: Rae Sabine Rae Sabine

“Grief is the strangest thing. I had no tears but I think I was crying in my sleep. I had this large energy within me so I grabbed a board and some paint and let it all out. Red, gold, green, blue etc. blending and letting the energy come through my brush strokes. Then I put it aside. At later date I grabbed a posca and sat with Rae scribbling. From there, during sessions, I just let it emerge.”

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
