First T Shot

Writer's picture: Rae Sabine Rae Sabine

“I decided to create an artwork around my FIRST T SHOT!! I get my first shot TODAY!! I made art showing the changes and what to expect, good and bad. I’m so excited to finally be able to start this process!! After 17 long years of life, almost 8 years of being out as transgender, I was met with a lot of abuse, neglect and transphobia via my immediate family. I’m in a safe place now, and I am so glad that I’m able to finally be myself. I have hope for life now. Trans healthcare is life saving”

Happy T Birthday to @stinky.hippiee

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
