Art work in progress

Writer's picture: Rae Sabine Rae Sabine

“Art therapy is something I never understood but kept an open mind. Turns out I love it, what does it give me? Why is it important to me? It gives me confidence, a safe place to be me and create. A safe place to be raw and to heal. It’s taught me about giving and receiving, through darkness there is light. To feel and ride your emotions. When I thought I was going to have to stop I didn’t understand why I was so angry and triggered. I finally was given back something I lost in the darkness the art to express in whatever that looks like for me and a safe space to just be.

#art work in progress and that’s ok 💛💛💛🌻”

I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land where I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. I acknowledge that this land was never ceded and always was, always will be Aboriginal land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

I celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, genders, sexualities, cultures, age groups, spiritual beliefs, physical abilities and disabilities.
